What Is A Chakra？

Chakras are ‘energy centers’ within the human body, they help to regulate all on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. It is said Chakras correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body, which affect our emotional and physical well being. 

Also, Chakras are various focal points used in a variety of ancient meditation practices. All the chakras are interconnected and a natural energy flow travels between them.

Blockages in our chakras occur commonly when people feel stress, experience bad diet, trauma and so forth. Under this circumstance, people will experience physical, emotional and spiritual disturbances due to the fact that our body’s natural energy flow is disturbed by those blockages.

How Many Chakras Are There?

In total, there said to be 114 chakras in the human body. Among these 114 chakras, there are 7 main chakras, 21 minor chakras, and 86 micro chakras.

The major 7 chakras are located along the spine and they each represent a different area of physical and spiritual energy.

• Root Chakra – Located at the base of the spine. Governs our safety, security, and sense of groundless.
• Sacral Chakra – Located in the lower belly near the sexual organs. Responsible for creativity, pleasure, passion, sexuality, and emotions.
• Solar Plexus Chakra – Located in the upper abdomen above the belly button. The center of our personal power, strength, courage, and resilience.
• Heart Chakra – Located in the center of the chest. Governs our ability to love and be loved, feel compassion, empathy, gratitude, and joy, and forgive others.
• Throat Chakra – Located in the center of the throat. Responsible for communication and self-expression.
• Third Eye Chakra – Located between the eyebrows. Center of our intuition, vision, and imagination.
• Crown Chakra – Located above the top of the head. Governs spiritual connection and enlightenment.

Each of these 7 major chakras holds a specific energetic vibration and they are said to be associated with physical, mental, emotional, psychological, and spiritual facets of our health. If all seven of these chakras are balanced and in harmony, we will experience a greater sense of well-being and vitality.

Each chakra of the 12 chakras is associated with a particular location, color, function, and vibrational frequency. Through understanding the 12 chakra system and learning the way they interact with us, we can find balance in our physical health and discover powerful energy outside of our bodies.

1. Earth Star Chakra

Function: It is a Chakra that grounds you and connects you to Mother Earth. 

Location: Located about 12 inches below your feet, this energy point provides oneness with humanity and Earth’s life force. 

Colors: Copper

Crystals: Red/Brown Jasper, & Nuummite

2. Root Chakra

Function: It grounds us to help us stay centered, secure, safe, active, and energized. And it allows the flow of energy from Mother Earth into your other chakras. So, without the Root Chakra in alignment, the rest of your chakras will remain imbalanced as well. 

Location: One of the primary energy points found within our bodies at the base of the spine, in the pelvic area.

Colors: Red, Rust, Brown

3. Sacral Chakra

Function: The Sacral Chakra rules over sexuality, passion, creativity, relationships, and connecting with others. An imbalance may cause a lack of creativity, passion or sex life, or even infertility.

4. Solar Plexus Chakra

Function: A powerful energy center, the Solar Plexus Chakra is all about your relationship with Self. This energy is centered around your personal growth, healing, ambitions, and sense of worth. On the flip side, it can hold negative energy like fear, pain, and stress. A balanced Solar Plexus Chakra represents a healthy, confident relationship with Self and embracing our inner power.

5. Heart Chakra

Function: the Heart Chakra is all about your emotions. It’s where the physical meets the spiritual. An open Heart Chakra allows for emotional healing, love and compassion, and empathy. 6. Throat Chakra

7. Third Eye Chakra

Function: Focused around intuition and psychic abilities, our Third Eye Chakra can open our hearing and senses, connect us to higher spiritual beings or dimensions, and open our subconscious mind.

Location: sits at the center of our forehead

8. Crown Chakra

11. Galactic Chakra
